     My daughter was diagnosed with stealth dyslexia at the end of 5th grade. She had suffered in silence for so long, until we started to see physical signs. She was in the gifted program but we noticed that her grades, as well, as her ability to focus or memorize were declining.  After speaking with her teachers we decided to have her tested. To our shock, she tested dyslexic.  I didn't even know what to do, where to go or how to go about helping her. I didn't even realize what dyslexia involved...I thought it was simply seeing letters backwards. Boy was I wrong (and I still do not completely understand) After searching for answers, someone suggested Susan Beddingfield as a tutor. She made learning (and we had to go back to basics) fun. I was shocked to see how much my daughter had missed from previous grades but relieved how Susan was putting those pieces back together. By the time school started back (6th grade in a new school and officially in middle school) she was keeping up with 3 locker combinations, her homework, she was more organized, even during a crazy class schedule. I noticed her memory and her focus had improved drastically. I knew we were at the right spot! Within a few months, we had our daughter retested and her scores had greatly improved. So grateful for Susan Beddingfield and her abilities, knowledge and love of kids that she teaches!
