Erin L.
My son was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was in the third grade. We started working with Susan at the beginning of his fourth grade year. At the time, he was struggling with reading, spelling, handwriting, and writing. He had become very anxious and discouraged with all schoolwork.
As he began to work with Susan and progress through the multisensory program, he regained his confidence. He started to enjoy learning again like he had when he was younger. He was finally learning to read in a way that he could master.
Susan was also very encouraging to me as the mom of a dyslexic child. She was able to give me suggestions to further help my son at home. We were homeschooling at the time, and her experience and feedback helped me make schooling most effective for my son.
After three years with Susan and homeschooling, our son has returned to the public school setting. He is maintaining an A/B average, and does not have the discouragement and anxiety he once had in the classroom. He needed to be taught in a way his brain could take in the information, and we were able to find that in working with Susan.
